Reminded of a Miracle...

Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.
Philippians 4:6-7

If you don't know what you're doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You'll get his help, and won't be condescended to when you ask for it. Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought. People who "worry their prayers" are like wind-whipped waves. Don't think you're going to get anything from the Master that way, adrift at sea, keeping all your options open.
James 1:5-8

Yesterday we all went to the doctor. Crystal had to go since she was sick...otherwise we wouldn't have done such a thing on our anniversary. I had to go because of my hands...and was confirmed about something that I've been in denial about...carpal tunnel. Then, it was Sarala's turn. She is doing amazing in her development...and she's growing. She's all of 26 pounds and is 2 feet 6 inches tall. It's been awhile since we've been to the doctor with her so we hadn't realized how much she's grown.

Until February of 08, she spent a lot of time in the doctor's office either here in town or up at Children's in St. Louis. Her reservoir was removed last October 07 so that cut down on a lot of the hospital visits. What got us thinking about this was a comment from her pediatrician. He suggested that we e-mail or contact her neurosurgery people and the NICU in San Fran with some pictures and an update. He said that you don't get happy updates very often in neurosurgery.

That's what brings us back to the realization that Sarala is a miracle. God's baby. The verses above are some that brought comfort as we were praying for God to do something...heal her. She was in the NICU for three months, born 2 months premature at 2 pounds 5 ounces with hydrocephalus, grade 3 hemorrhaging, having to be detoxed off of meth, marijuana, and ecstasy...with nobody, but like I said, God took care of her. The picture below illustrates the size of her diaper when she was a newborn. The other diaper is what she wears now, as a little girl about to turn two. The cell phone is just there to provide some scale. God is amazing and is listening. He still does amazing things all around us.

These pictures below just show some of the aspects of her personality, and if you've been around her much, you've seen these. She's very inquisitive, smart, outspoken, knows what she wants, and generally happy. I thank God for all he's done with her. She has an amazing story that will hopefully keep her close to God. He's obviously close to her.

My life has been blessed to witness such a miraculous life as Sarala's. We love her very much. I emailed a picture of her and Pappy, hope you got it!

At least at this point it is carpal tunnel alone and not rheumatoid arthritis (which runs in his family and starts at a young age). The Doc did say that he needed to play less guitar... the nurse laughed and said, "Why don't you just tell him to breathe less." So the Doc then wrote him a scrip for a brace. So I guess we will see... The part that worries Wade is he can be playing guitar normally and then can not feel some of his fingers. It is happening during service more and more. It is very frustrating (and scary) to him.
